The Saint John Leadership Network has consistently promoted that we must Dare to Lead. To Dare in faith and business leadership, we must eliminate the fears that hold us back from achieving the true potential for which we were created.

That is why we have teamed up with Richard Lane of Richard Lane Ministries, who will show us how to kick fear to the curb, and embrace the greatness we were created for.

Monthly Business Leadership Series: Lead with Fire

Fire has always been a sacred symbol; think of your leadership as “fire” . . . light to show the way; warmth to draw in, and heat to change.
“Fire” is also an acronym for: Faith: your leadership should be founded on your Christian faith. Integrity, the #1 trait for leadership. Responsibility, to serve like Jesus, the consummate “Servant Leader”. And Enthusiasm, from the Greek, “en Theos”, or “God within”.
Our speaker Mike McCartney, is an executive coach who helps successful people become better leaders. He has coached executives from Fortune 500 C-suites to family-owned companies. Mike has spoken coast-to-coast and draws upon his background as a business leader, executive coach, and pro rodeo athlete to spur audiences to, Lead with FIRE!
Lead with FIRE is a mix of Church teaching, leadership coaching, and colorful stories to make people think, laugh, and learn to be better leaders. Mike believes that faith is foundational for leadership, that integrity matters, that it is a responsibility to serve God first, and that enthusiasm models the way.

Monthly Business Leadership Series: Statism, Business, Regulation, and Democratic Freedom! May 2024

One of the impacts of globalization is the increase in global politics and statism or increasing growth in power, authority and regulation of almost all aspects of our lives including private business operations. The impacts are generally slow and gradual, but over time can create significant challenges to business operations and often increased cost while reducing our freedom to act as the business owners and executives in the best interest of our businesses. Statism is not new, but poses a threat of government business intrusion eroding freedoms and can extend to other areas of lives influencing freedoms of speech, religion and other areas outside of business that should, in a true democracy, remain individual rights.

Monthly Business Leadership Series: Gen Z, Hire Them or Fire Them October 2024

Every generation loves to complain about the new and upcoming generation of employees. And often for good reason as they don’t always share the same values, work ethic, beliefs and skills as previous generations. In terms of skills that can mean a great influx of talent for new technologies or it could mean the lack soft skills of previous generations, like good communication, etc… No question, Gen Z influenced by the pandemic, the first generation raised fully on computers in the classroom and socializing their entire lives online represents a most unique generation. These and many other world events have deeply influenced this generation now entering the work force driving changes in attitudes, expectations, bringing fears and conflict that require a different leadership approach to successfully integrate this generation of employees into our workforce. By 2030, Gen Z will represent 35% of the workforce, so like it or not we will need to address the opportunities, challenges and subtle nuances of this coming and significant part of our workforce.
