The Fit Women’s Hike is a three-day back-country adventure with Fr. Nathan Cromly and a small group of women who are ready to be challenged, stretched, and strengthened — physically, mentally, and spiritually. It’s Catholic formation in the wilderness, where prayer, perseverance, and friendship meet in a breathtaking setting.
This guided experience with COR Expeditions will take us to Monarch Pass in the Sawatch Range, then hiking to our back-country hut where we’ll bunk for three nights with a roof over our heads — and very few modern comforts. (No electricity. No running water. Yes, there is an outhouse.)
To participate, you should be able to:
- Hike 3+ miles with 30 lbs on your back
- Go without amenities like running water and electricity
- Embrace a physically demanding and deeply rewarding experience
Throughout the hike, Fr. Nathan will offer spiritual guidance and formation, helping you grow in courage, endurance, prayer, and trust in the Lord all while surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation.
Transportation is provided. COR Expeditions will provide travel from SJI to the trailhead and from the trail back to SJI. Participants, SJI staff, and COR staff will depart from the SJI campus together.

Part of the cost of this event is used to support the Saint John Institute. You can join in one lump payment or contact [email protected] to pay this on a monthly basis. If you are already a Silver Member of the Leadership Network, this event is one of the benefits included in your membership. If you are not already a member, the registration fee for this retreat will automatically enroll you in the Leadership Network.

SJI shuttles will be provided from the Denver International airport, Margaret Pluta will be in touch with more details about the shuttle as we get closer to July.
Fatima House: Attendees are welcome to arrive a day early or depart a day late. Rooms in the Fatima House on SJI’s campus are available. Please reach out to Margaret Pluta to reserve a room or for any inquiries.
