ARE ALL THE CLASSES OFFERED ONLINE?
Should you choose to follow SJI’s Academic Track, all your academic coursework will be offered online by the university of your choice. Outside of your online academics, live Theology and Philosophy classes will be conducted by the Brothers of St. John (3hrs/week). These live classes will be offered to all SJI participants.
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IN THE PROGRAM?
Twelve new students may enter the program each year.
ARE MARRIED PEOPLE ALLOWED TO ATTEND?
Yes, married individuals are absolutely allowed to attend. The daily schedule would be modified slightly depending on their state in life and family needs. The married couple would also be responsible for finding their own off campus lodging.
IS HOUSING PROVIDED?
Yes, housing is provided on campus for all our participants, unless you are married. In that case, there are plenty of houses available to rent in the neighborhood that are within walking distance of SJI.
WILL I HAVE A ROOMMATE?
While the Saint John Institute reserves the right to assign participants a roommate during the course of their stay, we do all we can to provide single rooms to our participants.
DO I HAVE TO FUNDRAISE MY TUITION AND PROGRAM COSTS?
The Saint John Institute provides all our participants intense, professional training and support in fundraising all their tuition and program costs. Experience in successful fundraising builds invaluable skills for for anyone going into the nonprofit industry. While we certainly encourage all our participants to fully engage in fundraising their mission here at the Saint John Institute we do not require them to.
DO YOU HAVE TO BE CATHOLIC TO ATTEND?
No, you do not need to be Catholic to attend. All faiths are welcome! That said, the program is strongly based in the Catholic tradition and all students are expected to participate in all aspects of the formation.
