Enjoy prayer and recreation time, unparalleled natural beauty, and fun with your fellow “peregrinos” (pilgrims) as you make the trek to El Santuario de Chimayó. Eagle Eye and the Community of St. John is partnering with Creatio’s guides to take you on a pilgrimage to experience His presence, nature and fellowship. This is an 8 day, 7 night excursion (2 nights in Denver, 5 nights in New Mexico).
This pilgrimage is physically demanding. The terrain is rugged, weather conditions can vary wildly, and if you are not physically active you should start putting some miles underfoot now to prepare. Daily distances range from 8 to 11 miles for a total of nearly 50 miles on foot.
You’ll spend most of your time walking in the Carson National Forest or on roads adjacent to it. Wheeler Peak, New Mexico’s highest point, is located in the forest, as well as a number of ski resorts and trails taking advantage of the forest’s beautiful setting.

Travel Logistics
Participants must arrive on Saturday, 3/2 by 7PM Mountain Standard Time to Denver International Airport. For departure from Denver, please book flights leaving Denver after 11am Mountain Standard Time on Saturday 3/9.
The group will then drive to Taos, in Northern New Mexico on March 3rd. We will begin walking towards Chimayó on the morning of March 4th.

Participants
This excursion is designed for the college students open to spending spring break on a pilgrimage. This excursion can accommodate up to 20 participants.
